Ubisoft has a hefty presence at this year’s Gamescom trade fair, with one of the titles showcased being Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The company released some new screenshots and artwork for the game, as well as a pair of trailers highlighting the two playable character options players will choose between when they start the game. The first is for the male protagonist, Alexios, while the second is for the female protagonist, Kassandra. The game and story — including various romance options — will be the same regardless of the choice in protagonist.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey takes place four centuries before Assassin’s Creed Origins, during the Peloponnesian War between forces led by Athens and Sparta. The game is stated by the developers to be the second phase in the series transition to full-fledged RPG following its predecessor. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be released on October 5, 2018, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
