The first Yo-kai Watch game is now available for mobile in Japan. Unfortunately, western RPGamers remain waiting for their first release since the launch of Yo-kai Watch Blasters on 3DS.

Level-5 has revealed new screenshots for the Switch port of the first Yo-kai Watch game. The developer also announced a new update coming to Yo-kai Watch 4 later this year.
Yo-kai Watch made its debut on Switch earlier this year in Japan with the release of its fourth mainline game. Level-5 is following that up by giving Switch owners the chance to play a remastered version of the first game on the console later this year.
A quick glance at the Yo-kai Watch games might superficially indicate nothing more than another portable monster collection title, but there’s quite a bit more to distinguish them. Going into what makes this series distinct requires quite a few puns to be mentioned.
