Edge of Eternity New Beginning Update Released on PC

Midgar Studio has released a new update for turn-based RPG Edge of Eternity on PC. The “New Beginning” update features a new procedural dungeon, the Lighthouse, as well as a revamp of the game’s prologue, which now aims to offer a closer experience to the rest of the gameplay, and some adjustments to the pacing of its first two main chapters. The update is also planned to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S by the end of summer.

The Lighthouse dungeon is accessible from the start of the second chapter in the heart of the Solna Plain, and features fifty levels with random modifiers and a variety of treasure chests. Players fight a guardian checkpoint boss every ten levels, with progression saved and a powerful amulet awarded to players once a checkpoint boss is defeated.

Edge of Eternity is the debut title from Midgar Studio (published by Dear Villagers) and originally released for PC in June 2021, with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and cloud-based Nintendo Switch versions released in 2022. The game combines turn-based and tactical combat, using an ATB-based battle system as well as a combat grid and environmental interactions.
