Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Remaster Announced, Shin Megami Tensei V Set for 2021

During today’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase presentation, Nintendo and Atlus announced Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster, a HD remake of the third mainline entry in the Shin Megami Tensei series. The remaster will launch in Japan for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on October 29, 2020, with North American and European releases following in spring 2021.

The original game was released for PlayStation 2 in North America as Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and in Europe as Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer’s Call. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo with the city turned into the Vortex World where cults and demons fight each other. Players control a young man who is turned into a demi-fiend and given demonic powers, recruiting demonic allies through negotiation.

Nintendo and Atlus also released a new trailer for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V, the newest mainline title in the series, which was first announced in 2017. The trailer comes with the reveal that the game will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2021. Few details are known about the game, other than that it takes place in a world where chaos reigns.

Will the “Lucifer’s Call” labeling be retained when the game releases for the Switch in Europe?
