Dragon Quest X Offline Shows Advanced Classes

Square Enix released new screenshots and information for Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline. The update covers many of the advanced classes available for players. These can be unlocked in different ways; for example, Gladiator requires the Warrior or Martial Artist class to be at a certain level and then a particular quest to be cleared.

Gladiator is a dual-wielding class. It sacrifices defence to become attack-focused and has the Tension Boost ability. Paladin is a protection-focused class that has high HP and defence. It also has access to support abilities including healing spells, while its Knight Watch ability causes enemies to focus on it for a time. Armamentalist is a support magic class, using its spells to bolster allies and grant elemental effects to weapons. Its Wizard’s Wheel ability restores MP and can increase damage dealt to an enemy. Ranger is a class adept at hunting, raising the chance of collecting items at the end of battle. Its Brownie Boost ability boosts attack and defence in addition to restoring HP and MP to the party.

Sage is a magic expert with access to advanced attacking and defensive spells. Its Spelly Breath ability increases magic power, restores MP, and can occasionally let it cast a spell twice in one turn. Superstar aims to captivate enemies. It has unique skills that let it summon bodyguards, increase experience points awarded, or rain down gold. The Dancer looks to support allies and hinder enemies with status effects. It can duel-wield and its Dance of Kojin ability increases tension for all allies. Finally, the Gadabout is an always-playing class that produces various effects. Its Hocus Pocus ability is a roll of the dice with many potential outcomes.

Dragon Quest X Offline is a single-player version of MMORPG Dragon Quest X and will launch in Japan for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in the summer of 2022. Its first expansion, The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally, will follow in fall 2022. No announcement has been made regarding a possible western release for Dragon Quest X Offline.
