Dragon Quest X Offline’s Eltona Continent Detailed

Square Enix provided new details and screenshots for Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline. The new update provides information on the continent of Eltona and the island of Rakkaran.

Eltona is a naturally rich land thanks to its warm climate and frequent rain, including a world tree that has been growing for over 500 years. However, part of its western portion is covered by a demonic miasma. It is home to the Elves, which have pointed ears and translucent wings. They have great respect for nature plus a strong desire to learn, and use technology and knowledge passed down across generations.

Many of Eltona’s settlements have existed for a long time and still practice historical customs. Tsusukul Village is an academic village, which is governed by a shrine maiden who can control the power of wind. Azlan is a town that hosts the Wind Farewell Ceremony, where they pray for the protection of the next winds and its people live beside animals called the kamushika, said to be the incarnation of wind. Kamihalmui is Eltona’s royal capital and features a moated castle and cherry blossoms that bloom all year round. Finally, Gakeppuchi Village overlooks the region of cursed miasma and sits besides a river of light.

Important characters from Eltona include party member Fuura, who hails from Azlan but came to Tsusukul Village for her studies. There is also Tsusukul Vilage’s Shrine Maiden Himea, its leader; King Nicoloi, who is known as a wise ruler; Kyusuke, a student in Tsusukul Village who has been held back in his studies; and Lord Taketora, Fuura’s father and the ruler of Azlan.

Meanwhile, Rakkaran is a separate large island known for its entertainment offerings, with streets often crowded with tourists. Its owner, Gohleck, collects medals and recently opened a casino on the island. Players can play multiple casino games using tokens and can exchange tokens obtained in the games for prizes.

Dragon Quest X Offline is a single-player version of MMORPG Dragon Quest X. The game will release in Japan on February 26, 2022, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Those who purchase the game on PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for free. The expansion The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally — based on the MMORPG’s first expansion of the same name — will be released in spring 2022. No announcement has been made regarding a possible western release for Dragon Quest X Offline.
