Outriders Update, Expansion Announced

Publisher Square Enix and developer People Can Fly released a new broadcast video for Outriders, during which they announced a major free update and a new upcoming expansion for the game. The “New Horizon” update will release tomorrow, November 16, 2021, and add four new Expeditions as well as a new Transmog system that lets players change items’ appearances. It will also remove Expedition timers and include new weapon skins, rebalancing, an overhaul to the Expedition store, and other improvements.

The upcoming expansion is titled Worldslayer and is planned to release in 2022. No details about the expansion have been revealed at this time, with a full reveal planned for spring 2022.

Outriders is a shooter-RPG and features co-op multiplayer for up to three players. Players control an eponymous Outrider, an advance operative sent out to identify potential threats as well as to clear the planet for a full colonisation effort. The game released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Google Stadia in April 2021.
