New Release Round-Up (April 29, 2021)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases.


CryoFall

Multiplayer survival RPG CryoFall lets players join worlds where they can team up or battle against each other as they explore the alien landscapes, with dedicated PvE and PvP servers available. Players will also need to gather supplies, build safe havens, grow crops, and craft items to endure the harsh environments as they aim to progress from stone age technology through to the space age.


Death end re;Quest

Platform: Nintendo Switch (previously released on PC, PlayStation 4)
Publisher: Idea Factory International

Price: $29.99 (10% launch discount)

Death end re;Quest follows two main protagonists, Shina Ninomiya and Arata Mizunashi, both employees of the developer behind fictional VRMMORPG World’s Odyssey. Though the VRMMORPG has been cancelled, Shina finds herself trapped within the game, while Arata attempts to rescue her from the real world in the city of Sagami. HammerHelm

Platform: PC

Price: $14.99

HammerHelm is a city-building and management RPG. The game sees players controlling a dwarf banished from their home for believing dwarves can live above ground, who decides to build their own town to attract like-minded others. In addition to building the town, players can complete quests, craft items, and fight off enemies.


Genshin Impact

Platform: PlayStation 5 (previously released on PC, PlayStation 4, iOS, Android)
Publisher: miHoYo
Developer: miHoYo
Available: PlayStation Store
Price: Free-to-play

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play action RPG set in the world of Teyvat. Players control a character known as “the Traveler” and must embark on a journey to find their missing sibling. They are joined by NPC companion Paimon, travelling in a party of up to four active members.


New Pokémon Snap

Platform: Nintendo Switch
Publisher: Nintendo, The Pokémon Company
Developer: Bandai Namco
Available: Nintendo eShop
Price: $59.99

Although not an RPG, New Pokémon Snap is of interest to enough RPGamers to warrant inclusion here. The game is the long-awaited follow-up to Nintendo 64 title Pokémon Snap and sees players exploring the Lental region to help Professor Mirror research the local Pokémon by taking photos of them in their natural habitats.
