Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Detective Pikachu Returns

Puzzle adventure game Detective Pikachu Returns is a sequel to Nintendo 3DS adventure title Detective Pikachu. The game sees Tim Goodman and his detective partner Pikachu investigating a new series of incidents in Ryme City, where humans and Pokémon live side-by-side.


Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless

Tactical RPG Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless takes place in the Hinomoto Netherworld Cluster, a netherworld inspired by Japanese culture that is losing its “Bushido” lifestyle after being taken over by the corrupt Oedo Shogunate. The story follows lazy samurai Fuji and Hinomoto otaku Pirilika, who collect an odd assortment of allies as they search for the Seven Weapons of Origin in order to defeat the Shogunate.


Front Mission 2: Remake

Front Mission 2: Remake is a remake of Front Mission 2, which released for PlayStation in Japan in 1997, but did not receive an English release. The game is set during a conflict in the People’s Republic of Alordesh in an alternate future where mechs called wanzers are the primary tools of conflict. It also includes improved loading speeds and a refreshed soundtrack. Its release follows the recent remake of the first game in the series.


Silent Hope

Action RPG Silent Hope by classic isometric dungeon-crawlers and is set in a once-peaceful land, which was silenced by its previous king, who stole people’s speech before escaping into the Abyss. Mourning her father’s actions, the kingdom’s princess was crystallised within her own tears. Many years after these events, seven heroes are drawn to the princess and aim to break her free by finding the lost king. After each excursion into the Abyss, the heroes return to their base camp, where they can craft, cook, and otherwise prepare for the next trip.


Sword Art Online: Last Recollection

Action RPG Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is planned as the last entry in the game series’s continuity. Its events are inspired by the main light novel/anime series’ Underworld War arc. It sees Kirito preparing for battle as the gate to the Dark Territory opens, threatening to unleash terror on the Human Realm in the Underworld, while in the real world, forces are attempting to evolve AIs through its warfare.


The Lamplighters League

Fully titled The Lamplighters League and the Tower at the End of the World, the pulp adventure RPG sees players controlling a ragtag group of misfits seeking to prevent a tyranical cult called the Banished Court from attaining world domination. Players manage their team and their fight against the Banished Court at a global level, recruiting new allies before the Banished Court catches them and sending them out on missions across a variety of locations.
