Edge of Eternity Receives Few More Screenshots, Details
Midgar Studio has provided a new update for its Kickstarter-funded title Edge of Eternity, releasing a few more screenshots and details about the game. The first couple of images show some ruins where the game’s Nexus Grid — the hexagonal map used in battles — will play an important role, adding additional traps and puzzles to combat.
The next two images come with reveals on how Heryon’s history has lead to an anachronistic technological level in the world. Two main factions are reponsible for this, first is the Sanctorium, which discovered how to use tools on magical crystals to cut them down so that they can be carried around by sorcerers and used in weapons. Some time after this, however, an alien force known as the Archelites arrived, and brought even more advanced technology to the world. Relations between the Sanctorium and Archelites were initially peaceful, but war eventually broke out. The war led to a blight called the Corrosion to afflict Heryon, and it is this Corrosion that players are looking to try and stop. The final image shows Edge of Eternity‘s crystal-based weapon customisation system. Here, players put crystals into various slots on each weapon, which provide various effects.
Edge of Eternity is planned for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. No release date has been announced, but the game will be appearing at Gamescom in Germany later this month.
I honestly thought that this project was dead. Glad to be wrong.
This somehow reminds me of Phantasy Star Online
