Alex, Anna Marie, Chris, and Kelley come together to discuss the news of the week. #JRPGJuly is well underway for everyone on the cast. Anna Marie makes every evil choice she can. Alex dives into Anime: The Game. Chris shouldn’t be playing Elder Scrolls Online because his arm hurts, and yet he still is? Meanwhile, we lost Kelley somewhere in the wastelands when she wandered off to hug all the monsties.
Joshua asks “Am I fighting a house?!” (spoilers: he is). Chris is on the wrong side of 40, and somehow forgets JRPGJuly. Kelley espouses “Exposure: The Cryptocurrency of Artists.” Anna Marie is teaching the whole RPGamer staff how to speedrun FF4: Free Enterprise. Yes, things got a little…weird this week.
Chris got kicked off his own show this week to make room for a panel full to bursting with #JRPGJuly updates! Some are playing new games, some are playing old games, but let’s face it – everyone will be playing Fire Emblem next week.
Dust off that copy of Mario + Rabbids; Ubisoft has plans to keep people playing for months to come. New challenges are going to become available and this time it’s a competition.
Beep-0 is back for some new adventures with the Rabbids. This time, Donkey Kong joins the fray in this XCOM-inspired tactical RPG.
Although it caused some chaos, the mixing of Mario and Rabbids initially didn’t seem to affect Donkey Kong. However, that has now changed.
Nintendo followed up the trailer for Mario + Rabbids’ Donkey Kong expansion with a new batch of screenshots. Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Cranky, and Donkey Kong join forces later this month.
Not everything announced at E3 is far off; some things are very close to seeing release. This includes the Donkey Kong expansion to Mario + Rabbids, which came to the Ubisoft’s conference today with a live medley.
Rabbids and Mario was already a crazy combination so adding a big monkey to the proceedings is a natural step forward. It also makes sense to have that big monkey’s cantankerous Rabbid father.
Ubisoft and Nintendo got together to make a crossover. Instead of a platformer, RPGamers get Mario and Rabbids married together with XCOM style combat.
Nintendo has a new Direct Mini video revealing a number of titles that will be heading to the Switch. The World Ends with You, Ys VIII, Hyrule Warriors, and Dark Souls will all be arriving this year.
