Heroes of Might & Magic III Remake Announced
Ubisoft has announced Heroes of Might & Magic III Remake, a reimagining of the classic 1999 strategy title. The remake is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and is planned to release in 2027.
Heroes of Might & Magic III sees players called upon by Queen Catherine to help restore order to Erathia, following her father’s assassination and invasion from multiple factions. Players control heroes that command armies while travelling across the world fighting enemies and collecting loot, as well as building up towns and facilities. Alongside the remake announcement, Ubisoft announced that it has released the 2000 Complete Edition on Steam for $9.99.
The remake will include the continent of the original game, plus its expansions Armageddon’s Blade and The Shadow of Death, as well as all original campaigns and factions. Its story is said to be woven together into a continuous experience, including a new prologue campaign, with new cinematics. Players will be able to adventure solo or with up to seven others, with the game also including improved matchmaking, a simultaneous turn system, and the return of Hot Seat mode. The remake’s visuals will feature full 3D graphics, with dynamic lighting, real-time weather, and shifting seasons, while the audio will feature voice acting, new sonic cues, and more.
