Genshin Impact Version 5.5 Update Launching Next Week

HoYoverse announced that the latest udpate for free-to-play action RPG Genshin Impact will release on March 26, 2025. The Version 5.5 update, titled “Day of the Flame’s Return”, includes an expansion for the Natlan region with the addition of the Great Volcano of Tollan and the sacred city within it.

On their way to the Great Volcano of Tollan and the sacred city built by the Dragonborn, players will meet the sixth and final tribe of Natlan, the Collective of Plenty. The tribe is known for its devotion to fitness and competitions, with the volcanic soil producing particular juicy fruits. However, the volcano is known to erupt; to overcome the falling rocks, players will be able to transform into the tribe’s Saurian, the Tatankasaurus. The update will also introduce two playable chracters: Varesa and Iansan. Varesa is a 5-star Electro Catalyst, while Iansan is a 4-star Electro Polearm wielder. Other content in the Version 5.5 update includes the return of the Bloomflower Trials and a new Saurian Treasure Seeker mini-game. There are also new challenges and system optimisations.

Genshin Impact originally released in September 2020 and is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android. Players control a character in the world of Teyvat known as “the Traveler” and must embark on a journey to find their missing sibling. They are joined by NPC companion Paimon, travelling in a party of up to four active members.
