Darkest Dungeon II Inhuman Bondage DLC, Kingdoms Update Available Now
Red Hook Studios has released the second DLC and a free update for Darkest Dungeon II. The Inhuman Bondage DLC is available now for $9.99 on PC and Mac, with releases for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch planned to follow at a later date. It adds a new mini-region, The Catacombs, as well as a new enemy faction and the new Abonimation playable hero.
Meanwhile, the Kingdoms update adds a new mode separate from the main campaign. It sees players take on themed adventure modules where they are tasked with defending the realm from incursions by new enemy factions. Players venture across the Kingdom, earning resources to improve their heroes and the inns.
A follow-up to 2016 turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon, Darkest Dungeon II sees players tasked with guiding a stagecoach expedition across a decaying landscape to try and avert the apocalypse. The game features a refined version of the previous game’s combat with a new Token System. Each failed run grants resources that can be used on upgrades for future attempts. The game also includes an affinity system between party members, and players can learn more about their heroes’ backstories.
