Darkest Dungeon II Second DLC Releasing on PC This Year

Developer and publisher Red Hook Studios announced the second DLC for turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon II. Titled Inhuman Bondage, the DLC will release later this year on PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store). It will add a new hero, the Abomination — which returns from Darkest Dungeon — and a mini region called The Catacombs. The DLC is planned to launch alongside the first of three thematic modules of the upcoming Kingdoms mode: The Hunger of the Beast Clan.

A follow-up to 2016 turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon, Darkest Dungeon II sees players tasked with guiding a stagecoach expedition across a decaying landscape to try and avert the apocalypse. The game features a refined version of the previous game’s combat with a new Token System. Each failed run grants resources that can be used on upgrades for future attempts. The game also includes an affinity system between party members, and players can learn more about their heroes’ backstories.

A digital version of Darkest Dungeon II is currently available on PC (via Steam, GOG.com, and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with a physical release planned for later this month. Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
