Disgaea 7 Enhanced Release Announced in Japan

Developer and publisher Nippon Ichi Software announced an enhanced re-release for tactical RPG Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless. This enhanced version will launch in Japan on July 25, 2024, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, with no announcement for a western release as of yet.

The upcoming enhanced re-release of Disgaea 7 will include all the downloadable content previously released for the original game. This re-release will also feature a new bonus story titled “The World Savers Squad”, new characters including Asagi, new gameplay elements, and more. The new bonus story and character Asagi will be available as paid DLC for Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless, while the other changes and additions will be offered as a free update for the original game.

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless takes place in the Hinomoto Netherworld Cluster, a netherworld inspired by Japanese culture that is losing its “Bushido” lifestyle after being taken over by the corrupt Oedo Shogunate. The story follows lazy samurai Fuji and Hinomoto otaku Pirilika, who collect an odd assortment of allies as they search for the Seven Weapons of Origin in order to defeat the Shogunate.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly become obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as more as gameplay. Now, I am, writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
