Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Appearing in June

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware announced that Elden Ring expansion Shadow of the Erdtree will release globally on June 21, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Along with the release date, the companies released the first trailer for the expansion, which is viewable below. Pre-orders are now open for the expansion, including special editions and bundles:

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Standard Edition

  • Digital only copy of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Edition

  • Bundle containing the base Elden Ring game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
  • Available with the base game on physical disc plus an expansion download code for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, or digital only on all platforms.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Premium Edition

  • Digital only copy of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, plus a digital art book and a digital soundtrack.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Deluxe Edition

  • Digital only bundle of the base Elden Ring game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, plus digital art books and digital soundtracks for the base game and expansion.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Collector’s Edition (Exclusive to Bandai Namco Online Store)

  • Download code for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
  • A 46cm statue of “Messmer the Impaler”, a 40-page physical art book, and a digital soundtrack.

The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion will see players step into the Land of Shadow, following the footsteps of Miquella. According to an interview on IGN with director Hidetaka Miyazaki, the map is separate from the Lands Between, though technically occupies the same space. The new area is said to have a similar structure to the map of the base game, and is sized around the same as the area of Limgrave.

Elden Ring originally released in February 2022. It is an action RPG set in a world created by Souls series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki and A Song of Ice and Fire author George R. R. Martin. The game features the mysterious Elden Ring, a power sought by many adventurers that bestows the title of Elden Lord of the Lands Between.
