Yaga’s Roots of Evil DLC Released on Consoles

Publisher Versus Evil and developer Breadcrumbs Interactive have released Yagas Root of Evil DLC on consoles. The DLC, which launched for PC in 2021, adds a new story chapter and additional side quests around the village of Oakvale, which is besieged by corrupted beasts. It also includes a new biome, the Corrupted Forest, with new creatures and bosses as well as new folklore figures including Kuma Lisa the trickster fox, the Trinket Kid, and Gigi the Loan Shark. Root of Evil is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for $9.99/€9.99.

Yaga is inspired by Slavic folklore and follows Ivan, a one-handed blacksmith cursed with bad luck. He is watched over by the witch Baba Yaga while he takes on numerous impossible tasks from the tzar. The game aims to encourage replayability with multiple endings, different possible ways of completing encounters, and various decisions and upgrade paths for Ivan that affect his story, reputation, and how he fights. The game released in 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Apple Arcade.
