Genshin Impact Version 3.0 Update Launching Next Week

HoYoverse announced that its major version 3.0 update for Genshin Impact will release on August 24, 2022. The update is titled “The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings” and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android with cross-play and cross-save.

The version 3.0 update adds the nation of Sumeru, the fourth in the game, and makes its Dendro element playable. Sumeru can be found to the east of Liyue and is split into two desert and rainforest parts. Players will be able to visit multiple settlements including Sumeru City and Port Ormos. Sumeru is known as the Nation of Wisdom, and is home to prestigious historic institution the Akademiya, which has become the state’s governing body.

With the Dendro element becoming playable, the update adds new elemental chain reactions. Dendro can react with the Pyro, Hydro, and Electro elements to cause Burning, Bloom, and Catalyze reactions, with Bloom and Catalyze also able to chain into further reactions. In addition, Dendro wildlife in the rainforest can transform if exposed to Hydro, Pyro, and Electro elements.

 

 

The update will bring multiple new playable characters. Once players unlock the Dendro element at the Statue of the Seven in Sumeru, they will be able to recruit two Dendro archers. Five-star Tighnari is a researcher and Forest Watcher who is adapt at multiple phase attacks and useful for triggers chain reactions. Four-star Collei is Tighnari’s pupil and can be recruited for free by completing the Graven Innocence seasonal event for a limited time. Also joining the game is four-star Electro support character Dori, who wields a claymore and can restore nearby allies’ HP.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play action RPG that originally released in September 2020 and is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. Players control a character in the world of Teyvat known as “the Traveler” and must embark on a journey to find their missing sibling. They are joined by NPC companion Paimon, travelling in a party of up to four active members.
