New Release Round-Up (October 28, 2021)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an action RPG retelling of Dragon Ball Z, the popular manga and anime series centered on Kakarot, more commonly known as Goku. Those wanting to read more about the game can check out Elmon Dean Todd’s review of the PlayStation 4 version.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is an action adventure RPG based on the comic book superhero team created in 2008. Players control Peter Quill/Star-Lord and are able to make decisions that impact the Guardians’ relationships and missions.


Moonglow Bay

Fishing RPG Moonglow Bay is set in the eponymous town, former jewel of the Canadian coastline. However, rumours of dangerous creatures have ruined the fishing trade, putting the town on the verge of bankruptcy just before its centennial anniversary. Players start a business to honor their partner’s final wish to revive the town. They can cook and sell recipes, upgrade their fishing equipment and boat, set traps and nets, and explore a variety of locations while investigating the rumours of strange creatures.


Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars

Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars is a crossover spin-off between the Neptunia and Senran Kagura series. Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars takes place in the Game Ninja World, where two nations (featuring Neptunia’s Neptune, Noire, Blanc, and Vert and Senran Kagura’s Asuka, Homura, Yumi, and Miyabi) are battling through their respective ninja schools for dominance before the world is invaded by a machine army.


Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is a joint remake of the Game Boy Advance titles released in North America as Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town and Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town. Players are able to choose either a male or female farmer who is called back to Mineral Town to restore the farm of their late grandfather, become part of the community, and perhaps find love. Super Robot Wars 30

Super Robot Wars 30 is the thirtieth anniversary title for the long-running series, though only a small number have been given official western releases. It features cross-overs between numerous mecha-based franchises and turn-based strategic combat.

Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi (known in Japan as Yomi wo Saku Hana) is a dungeon-crawler set in 1979 Tokyo after a giant structure suddenly rises from the ground. Players control a team of explorers employed by the Cassandra Company to investigate the labyrinth, where many people have gone missing. The team is not alone as the labyrinth is home to monsters while criminal elements aim to claim resources for themselves.


Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars

Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars is an RPG played and told entirely through cards. Players take control of the protagonist, who sets out on a quest to defeat a recently reawakened dragon. Joining him are his monster pal Mar and a dragon-hating witch named Melanie. Throughout the game players will make choices that affect the story and participate in turn-based battles reminiscent of tabletop RPGs.
