New Release Round-Up (April 6, 2023)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Batora: Lost Haven

Action RPG Batora: Lost Haven is themed around the balance of mental and physical fortitude with a gameplay mechanic centred on it. It follows Avril, a 16-year-old girl who travels between planets on her quest to save a dying Earth. The game’s combat is billed as “hack-and-slash meets twin-stick shooter” while decisions made throughout the game will impact Avril’s personality.


Everspace 2

Space looter-shooter Everspace 2 is a follow-up to 2017’s Everspace. The game underwent a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign in 2019 and follows Adam, a clone pilot in the Demilitarized Zone of Cluster 34. Players explore the various star systems, undertaking main and side quests while acquiring and optimising new ships. Console versions are planned to release later this year.


GrimGrimoire OnceMore

GrimGrimoire OnceMore is a fantasy 2D real-time strategy RPG and a remaster of the PlayStation 2’s GrimGrimoire. The game stars Lillet Blan, a student at the Silver Star Tower’s magic academy, who attempts to avert the academy’s destruction after supernatural incidents start occurring. The OnceMore remaster includes upgraded visuals, new powerful spells, a new upgrade skill tree, a Hard difficuly option, a fast-forward mode, and a gallery.

Rhythm RPG Infinite Guitars is set in a world where the remnants of humanity scavenge to survive following a war against the Mechs. Players control a party aiming to turn the Mechs’ technology against them after they reawaken to wreak destruction once more. The game’s combat sees players participate in rock duels that feature a mix of turn-based, action, and rhythm elements.


Veil of Dust: A Homesteading Game

Story-driven farming RPG Veil of Dust: A Homesteading Game is set in Eastern Oregon in the 1860s and stars siblings Áine and Shane Callahan, whose journey to reach the Willamette Valley with their father ended prematurely. The siblings now seek to survive and build up their homestead while keeping Áine’s magical abilities secret. Veil of Dust includes farming, foraging, hunting, cooking, and crafting elements as well as combat against magical monsters.
