Freedom Games Showcases Upcoming Titles
Publisher Freedom Games held a fifteen-minute presentation, during which it showcased a number of titles, many of them RPGs. The first title showcased was Afterburner Studios’ Dreamscaper. The game is a roguelite action RPG following Cassidy, a young woman living in a quiet town. During the day she interacts with other townsfolk, while at night she is transported to a dream world where she faces the manifestations of her past. Dreamscaper has been on Steam Early Access since August 2020 and Freedom Games announced that the game will fully launch on both PC and Nintendo Switch on August 12, 2021. RPGamer was able to check out a demo for Dreamscaper and provide an impression.
The next RPG shown was TRAGsoft’s Coromon. The game is a monster-collecting RPG inspired by GBA-era JRPGs. Freedom Games revealed that the game is planned to launch for PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch in Q1 2022. RPGamer was able to spend time with a demo and chat to two of its developers for an impression. Freedom Games also announced tactical RPG Dark Deity, which is developed by Sword and Axe and will receive its own special announcement tomorrow.
Sands of Aura is a dark fantasy action RPG from Chashu Entertainment. The game puts players in the role of a member of the Order of Remnant Knights, a group trying to protect what remains of the sand-covered world of Talamhel. Players sail across the sea of sand to various islands, defeating whatever foes they come across. The game is planned to launch on Steam Early Access with a full PC release coming in 2022. RPGamer has an impression from a 30-minute demo and chat with the developers.
Finally, Freedom Games announced Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions for Anuchard. The retro action RPG from stellarNull sees players taking on the role of a Bellwielder, aiming to restore missing people’s souls and revive civilisation. As players gather more villagers, they will receive benefits in combat, with gameplay making heavy use of knock-back mechanics for combat and puzzles. Anuchard will release in Q1 2022 for PC, Mac, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and RPGamer has a preview for the game following a hands-off demo.
