New Release Round-Up (May 27, 2021)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases.


Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards

Action RPG Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards is based on Incan mythology and The World of Aluna comic book series created by Paula Garces. The game stars Aluna, the daughter of a Spanish conquistador and South American nature goddess Pachamama. After being raised in early 16th century Spain, Aluna travels to South America and embarks on a quest to restore her mother’s amulet.


Biomutant

Open-world action RPG Biomutant takes place in a post-apocalyptic, kung fu-inspired setting where players take control of an anthropomorphized creature. As players explore the game’s open world, they are able to use mutations to customise their character and their powers. Final Fantasy XIV Online is the second Final Fantasy MMORPG. The Starter Edition contains access to the base game (A Realm Reborn), plus the first expansion, Heavensward. The Complete Edition also includes access to the Starter Edition plus subsequent expansions Stormblood and Shadowbringers.


King of Seas

Pirate RPG King of Seas sees players setting sail in a procedurally generated, dynamic world in search of adventure and glory. LiEat

LiEat follows young dragon girl Efina, who has the power to eat lies, and her vagabond caretaker. The duo travel the world buying and selling secrets, while trying to uncover their mysterious histories, with the game covering three distinct story chapters.


Pecaminosa

Noir action RPG Pecaminosa puts players in the role of disgraced detective John Souza, who is one day visited by the ghost of mob boss Charlie “Two Angels”, and tasked with helping him capture his former associates in a bid to get Charlie into Heaven. The game features character customization with weapons and outfits letting players utilize different playstyles, as well as gambling mini-games.


Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster is a remaster of the third mainline Shin Megami Tensei title that was released for PlayStation 2. The apocalyptic storyline takes place in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo that has been turned into the Vortex World, where cults and demons fight each other. The remaster includes additional difficulty modes, a suspend save option, and Japanese and English voiceover options. Solasta: Crown of the Magister

Solasta: Crown of the Magister is a party-based fantasy tactical RPG that utilises the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1 ruleset. The game features a story campaign with players creating their own party of adventurers, with combat that makes heavy use of verticality, as well as a dungeon maker tool. Tainted Grail: Conquest

Deckbuilding roguelike Tainted Grail: Conquest is a reimagining of Arthurian myths, set in the realm of Avalon with King Arthur dead and the magical guardian stones that protect its inhabitants losing their power. It is based on the Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon board game, with a story written by Polish author Krzysztof Piskorski. Players are put in the role of regular townspeople who set out to reach Kamelot as a dark power slowly takes over the land.
