New Release Round-Up (February 13, 2025)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released in the last week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development. Pricing is shown in US dollars before application of any discounts, local pricing may vary.


Shujinkou

Dungeon-crawling RPG Shujinkou follows Shu, Jin, and Kou as they try to save the world from the Akuma. It sees players tackling sixteen labyrinths using various skills, items, and equipment while optionally learning Japanese. Other content allows them to take on quests, cook, fish, participate in mini-games, shop, and more. Players can learn hiragana, katakana, and numerous kanji, as well as over a hundred types of grammar corresponding to the JLPT’s (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test) N5 to N3 standards, with the game also including some content up to N1. The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II

The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II takes place three months after the events of Trails through Daybreak. Van Arkride keeps the mantle of protagonist, working as a “Spriggan” — effectively a hybrid of private detective and bounty hunter — in the Calvard Republic. The game’s events see him investigating a series of gruesome murders connected to Van by the appearance of a red beast-like creature that looks eerily similar to the blue Grendel form that Van can take on. Trails through Daybreak II features the same combat system from Trails through Daybreak, which features a mix of real-time and turn-based combat, as well as its Law, Gray, and Chaos alignment system.


Warriors: Abyss

Warriors: Abyss is a roguelite hack-and-slash action RPG spin-off to the wider Warriors franchise featuring characters from the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series. The game sees players controlling a chosen hero, while recruiting other heroes they encounter along their adventure through a randomly generated hell. Players battle through waves of enemies as they attempt to reach and defeat the arch-villain Gouma. During the journey, players will find new characters and items to strengthen their team, utilising Summoning Heroes and Unique Tactics with up to seven active heroes in battle from a total pool of over a hundred.
