New Metal Max Titles Announced

During its Metal Max 30th Anniversary Pre-Birthday stream, Kadokawa Games provided a number of announcements for the tank-based series. Firstly, Metal Max Xeno: Reborn 2 — the follow-up to Metal Max Xeno: Reborn — is now officially titled Metal Max: Wild West. The game is being developed by 24Frame and Cattle Call, and is set to launch in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch sometime this year.

24Frame also announced Metal Dogs. The game is a roguelike action spin-off that stars Pochi the battle dog. The game is being developed for PC and will launch on Steam Early Access in English and Japanese in early summer 2021. The game is expected to spend around two-to-four months in Early Access.

Publisher and developer Success also announced a brand new entry in the Metal Saga subseries. The new game is currently known as Project Wolf. The game has a teaser website, but no other details have been announced. More details about all three games are expected during a special 30th Anniversary “Birthday Eve” stream on May 23, 2021.

  1. I know I’m going to get these. I can only pray that they’re more worth my while than Reborn was.

Hopefully western releases for this, Fan Translation MM2R is complete and should be out soon. These niche JRPGs almost always do well in the west, but they don’t localize more often than not. Waiting on good news for Megaton Musashi too.
