Kickstarter Check-In: Astral Ascent

Dark Devotion developer Hibernian Workshop has begun a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for its newest project, Astral Ascent. The game is a 2D platforming roguelite and under development for PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.

Astral Ascent will feature single-player and two-player local and online co-op modes. Players control one of four playable characters aiming to escape from an astral prison known as the Garden. In order to escape, they will need to defeat each of the twelve Zodiacs, the main guards of the prison.

Astral Ascent‘s campaign has already passed its €30,000 (c. $35,000) funding goal, with the campaign set to run until April 29, 2021. Those who pledge at least €20 will receive a digital PC copy of the game as part of their backer rewards (or €22 for a digital console version). Physical copies are also available at certain tiers as part of a collaboration with Limited Run Games. Astral Ascent is currently expected to arrive on Steam Early Access in 2022, with a full release planned in 2023.
