New Info on Atelier Lulua Emerges Detailing Gameplay, Characters

New details have emerged on Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland, presenting information on several new characters. The new cast includes Rorona, Fickes, Nico, Lionela, and Chimdragon.

Rorona Frixell, protagonist of Atelier Rorona and Lulua’s mother, is an alchemist who has some of the greatest abilities in Arland, and she understands alchemy through her own confusing theory. Rorona never seems to be around when needed, as her duties keep her on the move constantly. Fickes Finis is a laid-back yet enigmatic magician who tends to talk in riddles. While he appears suspicious to some, Fickes is a kindhearted gentleman who wants to see Lulua grow as an alchemist. Nicodemus “Nico” David Dieter is a former pirate who now finds home on land after his ship was wrecked. He takes on requests as an adventurer to gather funds to repair his ruined ship. Nico is big-hearted and lively, though he can be rather impulsive.

Lionela Heinze is the owner of an Arland bar called Arahoro Pavilion, a place she opened for people to pass time in peace no matter their circumstances. Once a shy woman, Lionela became sociable after travelling the world with Rorona. Finally, there is Chimdragon, a homunculus who grew larger after ingesting a special medicine. He is currently travelling with Lulua and her teacher Piana in their carriage atelier. Chimdragon replenishes tools and does some housekeeping, proving himself to be an essential part to the crew.

The game’s story involves an ancient text called the Alchemy Riddle that Lulua follows, as she is the only one that can read it. The plot will begin to unfold as more of the text is deciphered, even allowing for new skills and recipes to be learned as well. As Lulua can only understand so much of the text, she will have to grow through collection, battle, and synthesis if she wishes to decipher all of it.

Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland will launch in Japan in 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, while North America and Europe will see the game in the spring of 2019, adding PC to the list of platforms.
