Atelier Ryza 2 PS5 Version Announced

Koei Tecmo has announced that Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy will receive a dedicated PlayStation 5 version. The PlayStation 5 version will launch in Japan on December 3, 2020, the same date as its PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions. The PlayStation 5 version will release in North America and Europe alongside the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and worldwide PC versions sometime this winter.

To go with the announcement, Koei Tecmo released a new trailer for the game, viewable below. The video features the game’s theme song ‘Somewhen, Somewhere…’, performed by Clammbon. Koei Tecmo also showed around twelve minutes of gameplay during its TGS Online livestream, with the gameplay starting at the 32:14 mark in the full presentation video below.

Atelier Ryza 2 is a direct sequel to Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout with Reislin “Ryza” Stout returning as the protagonist. The game sees Ryza depart her home of Kurken Island to travel to the Royal Capital of Ashra-am Baird and set up her own atelier to use as a base for her exploration of the land’s ruins. Those who purchase Atelier Ryza 2 physically or digitally during its first two weeks on sale will receive a code for the Summer Fashion Costume Set, while those who have save data from the first game can unlock the Classic Costume Set.
