Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians Gets Gameplay Footage

In 2014, a Kickstarter campaign began for Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians, a collaboration between Yasumi Matsuno (creator of Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre) and development studio Playdek. The game met its $600,000 crowdfunding goal, but the project went silent for many years. In 2017, Little Orbit bought all the rights to the game and while there is still no release date, a livestream emerged with gameplay footage recently. The three-hour-long stream, which covers many aspects of the game, can be viewed below.

Unsung Story is a turn-based strategy RPG set in the world of Rasfalia, and will offer different protagonists for players to control during each chapter. A chapter timeline can be a year-long conquest, or span many decades. Battles will be on a 3-D battlefield with a controllable camera. Characters will have professions, each divided into multiple classes. Classes are spread out between three basic types: Warriors, Mages, and Monsters.

Unsung Story is being developed for PC, Mac, and Linux. The game will support English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, and Spanish language options.
