First Trailer for Metal Max Xeno: Reborn

Kadokawa Games has released the first trailer showing footage of Metal Max Xeno: Reborn, the upcoming remake of last year’s Metal Max Xeno. The trailer, viewable below, shows first glimpses of the game’s wasteland setting of Dystokio. Alongside scenes of protagonist Thalys in action, the trailer also confirms the return of Pochi the battle dog, absent from the previous release. Monsters, new and familiar, dot the blasted landscape, and the ability to engage the tank’s headlights allows the hunt for even more vicious prey after the sun sets.

Metal Max Xeno: Reborn will be released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan this winter, and is the first of three new announced projects to commemorate the franchise’s 30th anniversary in 2021. Metal Max Xeno: Reborn 2 is a direct sequel to the remake, and is set to release in Japan sometime in 2020, also for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Finally, the tentatively titled Code Zero currently has neither an announced release date nor confirmed platforms. No information regarding western releases has currently been announced.
