Venture Back to Classic World of Warcraft in August

Blizzard is celebrating fifteen years of its long-standing massive multiplayer online RPG World of Warcraft by releasing a version that lacks expansions and allows players to relive the game from when it first launched. World of Warcraft Classic will be available to play on PC on August 27, 2019, and will be the original launch version of the game up to the 2006 Drums of War update. Players that have an active subscription to the current game will be eligible to partake in a closed beta starting May 15, 2019.

World of Warcraft launched in 2004 and since has enjoyed seven expansions that have changed the shape of Azeroth throughout the years. World of Warcraft Classic will allow players to pick between the original Horde and Alliance races, create a character that will cap at level 60, and journey through Azeroth as it used to be. World of Warcraft Classic will come included for all subscribers of the current game at no additional cost.
