RPG Maker MV Console Release Delayed

NIS America has announced that the North American and European console releases for RPG Maker MV have been delayed. Previously set for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in late-February 2019, the game now only has a 2019 release period. NIS America provided the following statement on the delay:

We always strive to deliver the best product possible to you, the fans, with each title we release, and RPG Maker MV is no exception. With this goal in mind, we wanted to give you all an update on the current state of this title. Due to ongoing issues with development, the release of RPG Maker MV will be delayed. We are working to resolve these issues, we anticipate the release date to be later in 2019. We apologize for any inconveniences caused to those who were looking forward to the release of RPG Maker MV, and when a new release date is confirmed, we will be sure to update our channels accordingly.

The console version of RPG Maker MV includes double the amount of available materials to use compared to its original 2015 PC release, with the Japanese console version released in November 2018. For the first time in the series, it will also include character voices and music with vocals. Games created with RPG Maker MV can be uploaded and shared online, playable for free by all those who download the RPG Maker MV Player app with no region restrictions. Games created on the Switch and Xbox One versions can also be shared between each other, though games created on other platforms can only be played on that platform.
