RPGamer Round-Up: Dec. 16 – Dec. 23
Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s newest column, where we take a quick look back at some of the articles we’ve posted throughout the week. This article is designed to help give reminders for some interesting editorial content and stories that our less regular visitors might have missed. We very much appreciate any feedback or comments on its usefulness.
Please note that there will not be a round-up next week due to the holidays, so we will return in 2019 and in the meantime we wish all of our readers Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. With that said, let’s get to the articles!

Heretic Operative is a newly-revealed title from C Prompt Games that combines board game and strategy RPG elements. Johnathan Stringer was able to put some questions to sutdio founders and industry veterans Ian Fischer and Robert Fermier.
Pascal Tekaia has a review for Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics, an adaptation of the tabletop RPG title. Hi finds himself wishing there was a bit more of what the title alludes to.
She Dreams Elsewhere is a retro-styled RPG featuring a main character who is stuck in a coma, due out early next year. Sam Wachter checked out and reportedback on its recently-release demo.
Adventure Corner returns, expanding our coverage with games that aren’t RPGs but likely still of interest to our readers. Phill Willis takes a look at the latest title in the Earth Defense Force series.
Major News
Nihon Falcom’s Project N.O.X. teaser has been unveiled as the newest Ys title. Ys IX: Monstrum Nox takes place in a prison city and is set to release on PS4 in Japan in 2019.
Cygames showed of a lot of the PlatinumGames’ developed Granblue Fantasy action RPG at the franchise’s annual festival event. The game now has an official title, though it’s still unknown when Granblue Fantasy: Relink will be released.
Square Enix provided plenty of details and some new media for the upcoming Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon remake. The company also announced a March release date for the game in Japan.
Solar Sail Games’ Smoke and Sacrifice was originally released for PC and Nintendo Switch earlier this year. The game will soon also be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Deep Silver has announced that Outward will be released in March. The fantasy open-world RPG promises some hardcore survival elements, such as infectious wounds and the need to keep on top of food and sleep.
SpellForce III is getting a standalone expansion in the spring of 2019. Soul Harvest will add two new races: Dwarves and Dark Elves.
