Nihon Falcom Announces Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

Nihon Falcom has announced the latest entry in the Ys action RPG series, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox. The game, whose announced was teased earlier this month, is being developed for PlayStation 4 and is planned for release in Japan in 2019.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox takes place in Baldeux, which is northeast of Esterior, the setting for Ys I & II. The game is set in a large prison city, with its story focusing on people with supernatural abilities who known as “Monstrum”. The game will feature the series traditional gameplay elements, including fast-paced combat and large bosses, alongside new elements including supernatural actions to aid exploration. Some initial screenshots can be viewed below, with the game’s official teaser website now live.

    Didn’t one of his memoirs mention Adol in prison? Would be weird for him not show up at all.
