Shenmue III Campaign Reaches New Stretch Goal, Drops Price on Toy Capsule Box Set

Though the Kickstarter campaign for Shenmue III concluded successfully back in 2015, it is very much still continuing to crowdfund via other means. Announced via the game’s website, additional Slacker Backer and Fangamer campaigns have now raised enough funds to hit the $7 million stretch goal. This means combat will now feature the AI Battling system, giving players the option to automatically unleash combat techniques in response to the opponent’s positioning and distance. This joins previously added stretch goals, like subtitles in various languages, Skill Tree and Rapport systems, and extra content for Baisha Village, such as new mini games, an infiltration mission, an additional quest, and an additional battle event.

For those interested in further supporting the project, a new reward tier has been added to the Fangamer campaign. The Toy Capsule Box Set comes with the Ryo, Shenhua, Chai, and Forklift capsule toys that will appear in the game, as well as all rewards from the previous tier. Priced at $450, this reward was previously available to Kickstarter and Slacker Backer participants with a $500 price tag. Contributors to either campaign can secure a digital copy of the game for PlayStation 4 or PC for $29, with physical copies going for $60 when the game’s projected 2019 release date comes to pass.
