This week in Q&A Quest we discuss the first western RPGs we enjoyed. We also discuss early game of the year predictions.
Beamdog brought some classic D&D RPGs to consoles this month, with Neverwinter Nights following later in 2019, and we were about to chat about the releases. Johnathan Stringer talked with Beamdog co-owners Cameron Tofer and Trent Oster, and PR and Marketing Lead Sarah Dawson about the releases.
Four classic Dungeons & Dragons RPGs are out now on console. Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate II, Planescape: Torment, and Icewind Dale are available in two packs, with Neverwinter Nights set to join them in December.
Some more releases have escaped the September rush. Beamdog has announced that its Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Pack and the Planescape: Torment / Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition Pack will now come to consoles in October.
Beamdog and Skybound Games have revealed the contents and pricing for the physical Collector’s Packs for the upcoming console versions of the D&D Enhanced Editions. Standard physical and digital bundles will also be available.
Skybound Games and Beamdog have announced release dates for the console versions of Dungeons & Dragons Enhanced Edition RPGs. The games will be released in three physical editions, with each game also being available digitally on an individual basis.
While at PAX East this year I got the chance to play a quick demo of Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition on Switch to see how it controls. I then got a chance to sit down for a quick talk with Beamdog’s CEO, Trent Oster about the past and future of the company.
The latest generation of consoles will be getting a lot of Dungeons & Dragons this year. All of Beamdog’s Enhanced Editions of classic RPGs are getting console releases.
