Tales of Eternia Remastered Opening Movie Released

Bandai Namco has released the animated opening movie for Tales of Eternia Remastered. The two-minute video shows the game’s main cast and features the song “flying” from Japanese band Garnet Crow.

Tales of Eternia Remastered is set to release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026. The game is a remaster of PlayStation title Tales of Eternia, which originally released in Japan in 2000, and in North America in 2001 under the title Tales of Destiny 2 (not to be confused with the actual sequel to Tales of Destiny). It received a PlayStation Portable port in 2005 in Japan, which was released in Europe in 2006, but not in North America.

The game is set across two divided worlds, Inferia and Celestia. It follows Reid Hershel and childhood friend Faran Oersted, who encounter a mysterious girl who speaks an unknown language and soon learn a catastrophic collision between the two worlds is approaching. The Remastered version will include a variety of quality-of-life features, including destination icons, an option to disable enemy encounters, and an auto-battle high-speed mode. Players will also be able to toggle graphics and sound effects settings to switch between remastered and original versions.
