Tales of Eternia Remastered Announced

Bandai Namco announced its latest remaster for the Tales action RPG series. Tales of Eternia Remastered is planned to release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026. It will be available digitally on all platforms, as well as physically on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Tales of Eternia originally released for PlayStation in Japan in 2000, and in North America as Tales of Destiny 2 (not to be confused with the actual sequel to Tales of Destiny). It received a PlayStation Portable port in 2005 in Japan, which was released in Europe in 2006, but not North America. The game is set across two divided worlds, Inferia and Celestia. It follows Reid Hershel and childhood friend Faran Oersted, who encounter a mysterious girl who speaks an unknown language and soon learn a catastrophic collision between the two worlds is approaching.

Tales of Eternia Remastered will include a variety of quality-of-life features, including destination icons, an option to disable enemy encounters, and an auto-battle high-speed mode. Players will also be able to toggle graphics and sound effects settings to switch between remastered and original versions. It will also include Battle Retry and Quick Recovery options, as well as making Extreme difficulty mode available from the start of the game, with a new Unknown difficulty able to be unlocked after completing the game.
