Tales Series Character Designer Mutsumi Inomata Passes Away

Illustrator Mutsumi Inomata, who worked as a character designer on many Tales titles, passed away last week. The announcement of her passing at the age of 63 was made on Mutsumi Inomata’s X (formerly Twitter) account by her younger sister.

Mutsumi Inomata worked on a variety of anime series since the 1980s, as both a character designer and animator, including Windaria, Plawres Sanshirō, Future GPX Cyber Formula, and Brain Powerd. In the gaming world she was primarily known for being character designer on a majority of mainline Tales titles including Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia, Tales of Hearts, Tales of Graces, Tales of Xillia, and more.
