Downhill Undergoes Kickstarter Campaign
Developer Sisterhood Games has begun a Kickstarter campaign for its fourth wall-breaking action RPG Downhill. The campaign is set to run until July 4, 2025, and is looking for £20,000 (c. $27,000) in funding. Those who pledge at least £12 (c. $16) will receive a digital Steam code for the game as part of their rewards, with an £8 (c. $11) Early Bird option also currently available.
Downhill is set in the realm of Raghned, which is populated by humans and spirits. Long ago, day and night coexisted in an endless cycle, but they were separated into the Dayworld and the Nightworld. The game’s protagonist is Fade, who is fully aware of the player’s control over her. Players and Fade are in constant communication, with the player able to decide whether to go along with Fade’s wishes or make their own judgment.
Downhill features a morality-based level up system, with players having access to two different skill trees that provide access to different spells. Players can freely travel between the Dayworld and the Nightworld to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. In addition, the player is able to resurrect Fade as many as they wish without needing to load a previous save upon defeat.
The game is currently expected to release in late 2026 for PC. A demo is available to try out on Steam. Other platforms may be included in campaign stretch goals.
