RPGamer Round-Up: November 3 – November 10

Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

 


Editorial Content

It’s taken a decade for RPGamers to be able to return to Thedas. Alex Fuller reports that Dragon Age: The Veilguard is clear in its attempts to emulate the impact of another BioWare title, with somewhat successful results.

Leikir Studio’s Metal Slug Tactics provides a fresh take on tactical RPG gameplay by combining it with its parent run-and-gun series’ sensibilities. However, Ryan Costa finds that its short roguelike gameplay loop brings some issues with it.

NIS America is continuing to ensure western The Legend of Heroes fans are catered for with a swift February release for Trails through Daybreak II. RPGamer was able to get a quick preview at what it brings to the series.


Major News

Developer TwirlinCurtis revealed Negative Reverie. The retro handheld-inspired RPG looks at the darkest side of Corporate America and modern technology culture.

Klei Publishing and Wishes Ultd. revealed an Early Access release date for Beastieball. RPGamers will be able to start raising the volleyball-playing critters this month.

Fulqrum Publishing and Dreamate announced a PC Early Access release for New Arc Line later this month. The steampunk RPG is currently expected to fully release for PC and consoles late next year.

The wait for those wishing to play as the Lee brothers in River City Girls 2 is coming to an end. Jimmy and Billy from Double Dragon will be playable next week on all platforms.

Inti Creates announced a series of free updates for Card-en-Ciel. The game will be receiving new monthly content for at least five months.

NIS America announced that it is releasing the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of RPG Maker WITH in the West. These versions will launch in February.

Eastasiasoft revealed a pair of December releases. Compile Heart-developed dungeon crawler Tokyo Clanpool will be available on Switch and PC, with Xuan Yuan Sword: The Gate of Firmament’s PlayStation 5 version also arriving.
