New Enshrouded Early Access Update Available

Keen Games released the fourth Early Access update for its survival action RPG Enshrouded. Billed as the title’s biggest content update to date, “Souls of the Frozen Frontier” introduces a new weather system, mountain biome, animal companions and livestock, and more.

“Souls of the Frozen Frontier” comes with a dynamic weather system, which changes over time and impacts gameplay, such as deep snow slowing players down. The update also adds the Albaneve Summits, whose peaks are home to new monsters and creatures as well as a source of new materials. Players can now adopt non-aggressive creatures as pet or farm animals, which may yield resources and have offspring. The NPCs crafting around the player’s base have been revamped, while new townsfolk NPCs can be found and rescued around the world. In addition, players’ level cap has been increased to 35, with new spells, skills, and perks added. All the details pertaining to the “Soul of the Frozen Frontier” update can be found here.

Enshrouded sees players awaken in the open world of Embervale as the “Flameborn”, the last hope of an ancient civilisation whose people have been driven to madness and controlled by the Shroud. The game features single-player as well as co-op for up to sixteen players, including dedicated server options. Enshrouded is set to remain on Steam Early Access until its full PC release in 2025, with console versions planned to follow later. Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
