Fairy Tail 2 Details Its Original Story
Koei Tecmo revealed more details and screenshots about Fairy Tail 2‘s original story, “The Key to the Unknown”. The reveal comes alongside the release of a new trailer dedicated to the game’s original story.
Set after the Alvarez Empire Arc from the source material, “The Key to the Unknown” is an original storyline available after clearing the main story campaign. The new storyline is made up of four chapters, and reveals new side of established characters through “Character Stories”. In addition, players will be able to travel to places not seen in the manga or anime. The new locations include a restaurant whose access is limited to lovebirds, forcing members of the Fairy Tail guild to act like couples in hope to obtain a hidden a treasure. Meanwhile, heading over to Akane Beach gives the cast opportunities to encounter certain members of the Spriggan 12 including Brandish.
Fairy Tail 2 is developed by Gust. It is a sequel to 2020 release Fairy Tail, though will feature a real-time battle system, as opposed to the turn-based gameplay of the first title. The game will retell the Alvarez Empire Arc from the original manga. The game is set to launch digitally for PC on December 11, 2024, while its PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch versions will be available both physically and digitally on December 13, 2024.
