Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Announced

Sega and Ryū ga Gotoku Studio announced the latest entry in the Like a Dragon/Yakuza series, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza. The game follows recurring character and once-feared yakuza legend Goro Majima on his oceanic adventures. It is planned to release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28, 2024. Physical and digital pre-orders are available today, including a Collector’s Edition that contains:

  • Physical copy of the game for PlayStation 5 or Xbox consoles
  • Digital Deluxe Edition added DLC packs (crew members, outfits, ship customisation)
  • 2″ treasure coin pin
  • 12″ x 18″ pirate flag
  • 3″ x 4″ eye patch
  • 6″ acrylic standee

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza is set a year after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It sees Goro Majima shipwrecked on a deserted island, where he is unable to remember even his name. He travels across the ocean to uncover his identity, joined by a boy named Noah who saved his life. The pair soon become involved in a conflict between cutthroat criminals, modern-day pirates, and other scoundrels over a legendary treasure. The game features action combat with Majima able to switch between “Sea Dog” style, where he dual-wields short swords and pirate tools, or his infamous “Mad Dog” style. Players will also assemble a crew while upgrading their ship — the “Goromaru” — as well as battling enemy ships and conquering hidden islands.
