RPGamer Round-Up: July 2 – July 9

Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

Drattzy Games’s turn-based RPG Alterium Shift is now available on Steam Early Access for PC, Mac, and Linux. RPGamer was given the opportunity to interview its two-man development team and find out more about the game.

We kick off another #JRPGJuly, our month-long community game-along! The RPGamer staff tells us what they are planning to play for the month-long celebration of all things JRPG.


Major News

Larian Studios held its final Panel from Hell for Baldur’s Gate III ahead of its full launch. The release showcase included the reveal of the game’s final Origin character.

Aksys Games announced a western release date for the Experience Inc. dungeon crawler with an excessively long name. Fortunately able to be referred to as Mon-Yu, it will release in North America and Europe this September.

Arc System Works revealed that its remake of the original River City Ransom is heading to new platforms. River City: Rival Showdown will launch on PC, PS4, and Switch in October.

Idea Factory International made some release announcements during its Anime Expo presentation. Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution is heading west along with two more otome titles, while Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters is getting an Xbox release.

XSEED Games announced release dates for new Touhou doujin action RPG Touhou: New World. The game sees Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame investigating a breach of the boundary between Gensokyo and the outside world.

Sword & Axe’s Dark Deity is getting a physical release from Limited Run Games. Pre-orders for the tactical RPG on Nintendo Switch have now started and run for a month.
