Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution Heading West

Idea Factory International made four release announcements during its Anime Expo presentation today. The first announcement is that Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution will be releasing in North America and Europe in 2024. The game — which launches in Japan this August — will be available physically and digitally for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

Neptunia GameMaker R:Evolution stars an older version of series protagonist Neptune. It is set in a world with competing game studios and sees Neptune joining up with a trio of developer goddesses whose endeavour went under after losing market share in order to revive their fortunes. The game will feature four-character parties in its action combat system, and players will be able to explore areas on a motorbike, with some areas featuring racing sections. It will also include a photo mode and studio management elements, where players can develop discs that improve characters skills. As the company grows, better discs can be developed.

In addition, Idea Factory International announced Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters. The Xbox console releases will be available physically and digitally in North America and Europe, and digitally elsewhere, in 2024. Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters is a spin-off to the main Neptunia series that sees the four younger Goddess Candidates awakening to find that a new smartphone model, the rPhone, has taken over their share of the games market. The game is currently available internationally on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, with a Nintendo Switch version set to release in Japan in August.

The final two reveals were for western releases of two new otome visuals novels. My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! -Pirates of the Disturbance- will release for Nintendo Switch in winter 2023, while Sympathy Kiss will launch for Nintendo Switch in early 2024. The first title is based on the popular My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! multimedia series where Catarina Claes is a high school student reincarnated as the villainess in an otome game, while the second title follows office worker Akari Amasawa as she tries to save the Estarci news app she works on from being shut down.
