The Caligula Effect 2 Getting PS5 Release

NIS America announced a dedicated PlayStation 5 release for FuRyu and Historia’s The Caligula Effect 2. The PlayStation 5 version of the game — currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch — will be released physically and digitally in fall 2023. The PlayStation 5 release follows a similar release for predecessor The Caligula Effect: Overdose on May 30, 2023.

The Caligula Effect 2 was originally released in 2021 and doesn’t require knowledge from the previous game. Players control a student in a virtual academy in the world of Redo, a self-proclaimed “paradise” governed by a virtual idol called Regret. They join a resistance called the Go-Home Club to fight against Regret and the Obbligato Musicians and escape Redo.
