The Caligula Effect 2 Trailer Shows Gameplay

FuRyu released a new Japanese trailer for the Historia-developed The Caligula Effect 2. The eight-minute video focuses largely on gameplay, showing its time-manipulation combat system, party members, and sidequests.

The Caligula Effect 2 is a follow-up to The Caligula Effect, which later received an enhanced remake titled The Caligula Effect: Overdose. Players control a student in a virtual academy in the world of Redo, a self-proclaimed “paradise” governed by a virtual idol called Regret. They join a resistance called the Go-Home Club to fight against Regret and the Obbligato Musicians, and escape Redo. The Caligula Effect 2 is set to release in Japan for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on June 24, 2021, with a western release courtesy of NIS America scheduled for sometime in the fall of 2021.
