Like a Dragon 8, Like a Dragon Gaiden Announced

During its RGG Summit 2022 at Tokyo Game Show, Ryū ga Gotoku Studio revealed the latest title in its Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. Titled Like a Dragon 8, the game will feature two main protagonists — both long-time series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and Yakuza: Like a Dragon‘s Ichiban Kasuga — though further details have not been announced.

Like a Dragon 8 is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and is planned to release worldwide in 2024. Ryū ga Gotoku Studio confirmed the game is likely to continue using the turn-based combat system of Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

In addition, Ryū go Gotoku Studio announced Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. The game follows the exploits of Kazuma Kiryu between the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and Like a Dragon 8. It will have similar action gameplay style to Yakuza 6 and is planned for release internationally in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Ryū go Gotoku Studio stated it will be around half the size of a mainline game.
