2024 was another year that packed plenty of punches with its releases. While we go through our official awards process, we asked our volunteer teams to pick out their personal top threes of the year.

We kick off another #JRPGJuly, our month-long community game-along! To kick things off, the RPGamer staff shares what they are planning to play for this celebration of all things JRPG.
RPG Cast – Episode 724: “Can I Sell You a Battle Pass Warranty?”
Kelley eats radioactive sushi. Chris tries to learn what a “zound” is. Josh goes to the Millennium tower one last time and rips off his shirt. Johnathan makes his bi-annual visit to Suiko-shame Chris.
RPG Cast – Episode 722: “They’re Just a Stack of Rocks”
Kelley risks her life trimming her cat’s nails. Chris optimizes Eiyuden Chronicle live on stream. Robert plays dental roulette.
RPG Cast – Episode 721: “Skyrim Helmet Sleep Mask”
Chris force feeds people desserts to make people like each other. Ryan likes bad games, just like Chris. Kelley has a penchant for losing pendants. Matt throws some garbage in the pot and suddenly it’s pizza. Now let’s grow old and lose stats together.
RPG Cast – Episode 720: “Self Checkout Bouncers”
Chris gets ready for his favorite part of FFXIV, the benchmark. Kelley complains about her hotel bed while waiting for a tow truck. Josh is force feeding his army desserts. Meanwhile…wait…Robert…wake up, Robert!
RPG Cast – Episode 719: “Good morning, everybody. Hairball!”
Kelley gets bored and cleans her bathroom. Memories of the Virtual Boy make Josh’s eyes hurt. Robert can’t stop singing about Albuquerque. Chris, meanwhile, decides to make his own farming sim with coffee shops and old people.
RPG Cast – Episode 717: “I Went to Tokyo Disneyland in Paris”
Chris gets cheesecake from rats. Kelley punches worms to get her Tifa back. And Josh funds a re-dub of Yakuza with Mark Hamil. Now excuse us as we go attend tonight’s brawl at the local Waffle House.
RPG Cast – Episode 712: “M.A.S.H Cast”
Sam is declared legally dead. Chris’s Batman Cookies set him down a bad path in his life. Kelley’s alien grandpa tells us what Pokémon look like while she ignores her husband. Now excuse us as we shove chocolate down our shirts.
RPG Cast – Episode 711: “I’ve Always Wanted a Gaming Napkin”
Chris kink-shames Red XIII. Kelley violates the time space continuum with cat cafes. Josh is better at keeping things afloat than Embracer Group. Robert fails at being family friendly.
RPG Cast – Episode 710: “Xenoblade Chronicles X Doesn’t Love You Back”
Robert finds out what Godzilla sushi tastes like. Josh pimps his Segway. Phil has a pictomancer at home. The awards all Chris’s fault, because he didn’t vote. Also, PoE is to Chris, as CoH is to Phil.
RPG Cast – Episode 709: “2004 Jankiness in 2024”
Josh increases his charisma with Sega BASS fishing. Chris plays something other than Path of Exile. Kelley thinks the world sucks and goes to pet a cat. Cook my toast.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is expanding on its predecessor’s Pokémon parody. Players will be able to participate in Sujimon battles, as well as summon them with a new job.

Sega and Ryū ga Gotoku Studio released a hefty set of character spotlights for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The fifteen videos highlight the game’s party members and other important cast members.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth received another story trailer. The latest video sees Kazuma Kiryu looking back at the past and to an uncertain future.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Receives English Story Trailer
Sega released the English version of its Japanese story trailer from September. Players can get an extended preview of the game’s story, including a first preview of Daniel Dae Kim and Danny Trejo’s performances.
